This CLE course will provide energy law attorneys with a detailed analysis of hydrogen applications, usage, and storage. The panel will discuss recent developments in the use of hydrogen for energy generation, policy and emerging frameworks, restrictions on hydrogen production technology and related products, and other key items. The panel will also discuss the development of facilities and projects for hydrogen and related products, as well as key considerations for energy companies, utilities, and investors.

Description

In addition to wind and solar, hydrogen could play a significant role in decarbonizing fuel sources. As the use of hydrogen as a potential application in certain parts of energy generation and storage evolves, counsel must be aware of the legal issues and current trends for hydrogen as a clean energy source.

Hydrogen made from renewable or low carbon electricity could help decarbonize certain sectors such as heavy-duty transportation and heating. Hydrogen presents opportunities to assist in the power sector by providing energy storage solutions for off-grid electricity and balancing electricity systems.

Although the potential benefits of using hydrogen and related products in energy are attractive, the lack of federal regulations and guidance raise risks for energy companies, utilities, and investors. Energy attorneys must be aware of potential regulatory issues and other legal matters for hydrogen and related product production, application, and usage.

Listen as our panel discusses recent developments in the use of hydrogen for energy generation, policy and emerging frameworks, restrictions on hydrogen production technology and related products, and other key items.
