This CLE webinar will provide elder law counsel guidance for navigating common issues and challenges in Medicaid application and renewal processes. The panel will discuss eligibility criteria and requirements, asset transfers and the penalty period, and other key items.

Description

The Medicaid application and renewal process can be complicated due to various criteria to qualify for benefits. Elder law counsel must understand the medical criteria, qualification standards for Medicaid, how assets are classified, limitations, and other items of focus when applying for Medicaid.

The goal for Medicaid applicants is to acquire benefits while also protecting assets and income. In order for elder law counsel to effectively assist with Medicaid planning and applying for Medicaid benefits, they must understand the rules for qualifying for Community Medicaid vs. Institutional Medicaid, mechanisms to facilitate asset transfers and protection, and other issues impacting eligibility and other qualification standards.

Listen as our panel provides an in-depth look at Medicaid eligibility, application and renewal processes, asset transfers, and other planning techniques.
